When is the best time to visit Seville? It's a bustling city all year round, but the pace and activities vary from season to season. It's an attractive destination with something interesting going on at any time. At ForSevillaLovers we tell you everything you need to know if you can't decide between the 4 seasons. Let's get to it!

Everyone knows that Seville has a good temperate climate, and certainly most of the year you can enjoy the sun and fresh air. In any case, however, it is good to know when to go to Seville depending on the best season.

In fact, keep in mind that in spring nature explodes and the city has many trees and flowers so allergy sufferers might have problems, in summer the heat during the day can become suffocating and make it impossible to walk in the city. Autumn and winter are rainy and rainy seasons, although temperatures are still acceptable and prices of flights and hotels drop drastically.

Seville in spring, the best time

If there is a perfect season to visit Seville, we think it is spring. The months of March, April and May until mid-June the temperatures are warm, the days are longer and it hardly rains. The city is literally in bloom and the smell can be felt walking through the streets mixed with the smell of incense as Easter approaches.

In fact, between April and May you can attend two of Seville's emblematic events: the Semana Santa and the Feria de Abril (the festival that normally starts two weeks after Easter). Temperatures rise during the day and can exceed 25-35 degrees during the beautiful sunny afternoons (it is usually a dry heat, closely linked to the presence of the strong sun).

The mornings are cool but pleasant, as are the afternoons. However, it is the most suitable period to take advantage of all the outdoor activities.

Of course, this season also has its drawbacks: prices are considered high, planes and hotels are more expensive and queues at monuments can get longer. But the atmosphere in the city is still very relaxed, enriched by the long sunny days (which already in April is between 20.30 and 21.00 hours).

Summer in Seville, too hot and deserted streets

Many people have their holidays only in summer and take the opportunity to organize a trip to Andalusia, with a visit to Seville as a must. However, it should be known that temperatures from the second half of June to early September can easily exceed 40 degrees.

In this case the best time to go out is in the morning until before 12 o'clock (the sun rises later here and the air therefore gets warmer in the second part of the day), and then take refuge in the cool and wait until 21 o'clock to go out again and enjoy the evening and night activities. Evidently the commercial activities fit perfectly with the schedules of a

Evidently, even here August is a public holiday month, so you will find the city empty of inhabitants heading for the beautiful Andalusian coasts. On the other hand, however, in summer you can go to the coast (even during the day) and enjoy some of the most beautiful beaches in the region, or attend one of the evocative concerts held inside the Alcázar.

The days are very long, the light is bright and finally around 9 pm people start to come out of their houses to sit in one of the many bars and start the tapas. In any case, remember to always go out with a jacket, because any room or building has air conditioning.

Autumn in Seville, October and November are a good alternative

October is a good alternative to visit Seville, the days get shorter, but are still warm and sweet looking. The coolest times of the day are early in the morning (which starts to be very humid) and in the evening after sunset.

During the day in particular from 1pm onwards it is good and at times you can even suffer from the heat as it is not uncommon for temperatures to rise up to 30 degrees in the sun. One of the positive aspects of heading to Seville between October and November is undoubtedly the very competitive prices for flights and hotels.

You may encounter a few hours of rain, but it is very rare for the skies to be dark for several days in a row. If you are travelling to Seville in autumn remember to take with you a good variety of clothes, from our autumn to the more summery ones, following the principle of dressing in layers.

Seville in winter and at Christmas

The cold in these parts really arrives in January and February. December is still a pleasant month except for the morning, which is characterized by a thick fog of humidity that melts in the heat of the sun in the middle of the day.

The best time to stay outdoors in winter is in the afternoon, from 2 p.m. with the sun you can also have lunch outdoors. From January to the end of February it gets colder and rains more often. These two months are also the dullest and least touristic months of the year.

Only during the Christmas holidays and in particular for the Epiphany (the Three Kings) there is a fair movement of tourists, including the Spanish, but it is still possible to find good deals for a pleasant holiday. Although it is always a beautiful and truly inspiring city, we recommend you to see Seville in the months of April, May, September and October, so you can enjoy the incredible light and take advantage of the long, relaxing days.
